COVID-19

FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF OTHERS, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND CLASSES IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 OR IF YOU HAVE HAD ANY EXPOSURE OR BEEN IN CONTACT WITH A SICK INDIVIDUAL, WHO HAS BEEN ILL OR TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19.

IF YOU HAVE ANY REASON TO BELIEVE YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID-19 PLEASE STAY AT HOME.

PLEASE ALLOW PROPER AND RECOMMENDED RECOVERY TIME BEFORE RETURNING TO TRAINING.

Over the past year there has been an increased need for information surrounding COVID-19 outbreaks across the nation. The safety, health and well being of our students and families is our priority.

Our pre-existing daily cleaning procedures are already very thorough however, considering the current circumstances, Brazil-021 Houston management is working consistently throughout the day to ensure our facilities are sanitized and safe for our students and their families. We have increased the frequency of cleaning the front desk, iPads, private restroom, restroom keys, waiting area, mats and equipment. This also includes frequent sanitizing of our tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, sinks and all hard surfaces.

As always, we encourage all students to keep exceptional hygiene to keep yourself, family and other students healthy.

  • Keeps hands clean by washing hands with soap and warm water for 20-30 seconds, especially after using the restroom, before eating, after blowing nose or coughing and before and after training.

  • If soap and water is not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol

  • Shower as soon as possible after training. Due to the limits Governor Abbott has placed upon reopening, the academy shower and locker room is closed for use. We strongly encourage everyone to go home immediately and shower after training. Students should come to the academy with their GI on and ready for class.

  • Wash GI immediately after training. For those who train in the early mornings, we do have our GI washing service if interested. Clean GIs should always be worn to training.

  • Shoes should be worn at all times when walking in common areas. Which includes waiting room, restrooms and hardwood floor inside the dojo. Walking bare-feet is only acceptable when on the mats.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely. We are confident in our facility and students to maintain a healthy and safe environment for our students and families. We are a very small scale compared to large gyms with lots of day to day traffic.

Again, please refrain from training if you are sick, have been sick or think you might be falling ill. Please also be cautious about training if you have been in contact with an individual who has been sick.
